Report on AAAG International Algebra Seminar 2026 (AIAS 2026)

A total of 34 participants attended the seminar, including 23 presenters representing various universities across the two countries. Participants and speakers came from institutions such as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Universitas Mataram, Universitas Diponegoro, UIN Walisongo Semarang, Universitas Indonesia, and Universiti Putra Malaysia, alongside several other institutions that also sent academic delegates.

The seminar presentations covered a range of developing topics in algebraic research, including graph theory, group theory, ring theory, module theory, and category theory. The discussions reflected the dynamic progress of algebra research and highlighted new opportunities for future collaboration. Presenters not only shared their research findings but also introduced new approaches and ideas relevant to the broader research community.

Komunitas Peminat Aljabar (KPA), together with Persatuan Sains Matematik Malaysia (Persama), provided institutional support for the organization of AIAS 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. KPA’s involvement played a key role in creating a productive environment for scholarly exchange and in fostering the growth of a strong algebra research community. The participation of KPA members contributed to a constructive seminar atmosphere that encouraged the sharing of knowledge, ideas, and potential collaborative initiatives.

Overall, AIAS 2026 took place successfully and achieved its objective as a high-quality platform for scientific interaction. The seminar not only strengthened relationships among researchers and institutions but also delivered meaningful contributions to the advancement of algebra research. With this positive momentum, similar activities are expected to continue and become an important component in reinforcing the ecosystem of pure mathematics research at the regional level.
